Twice a month, two women gather on the internet to create Burning Mom, a humorous newsletter to share our low key rage about things impacting parents—and beyond. In this chaos of motherhood, all are welcome.
Saba Khonsari is a writer based in Houston, Texas. She has been considering writing a book since third grade. Her work has appeared in two now defunct blogs, The Belladonna Comedy, Frazzled, and Jane Austen’s Wastebasket. She began her career in mothering over a decade ago after 21 hours in labor and liked it so much she spent a lot of money and time to do it again. When she isn’t obsessing about the state of public education, she can be found giving unsolicited TED talks to her family.
Alexis Tai has been scribbling since she was four but entered the foray of freelance and comedic writing after the birth of her pandemic baby. She’s written in publications like Frazzled, HuffPost, Insider, and The Belladonna. She’s been a teacher, an advisor, a career counselor, and—through joy and frustration—a stay at home mom. When she isn’t decrying broken systems, she can be found negotiating with a very feisty toddler.

The Galactic Empire Would Like to Remind You of Its Terms Of Service
The Galactic Empire expresses our deepest condolences to the parents of the Jedi younglings slaughtered during Order 66. As was clearly stated in the microscopic fine print of the terms of service you signed for your youngling’s complimentary lightsaber trial, we have a right to send this wrongful death case to arbitration.
